General Manager - Norwich City Centre - Competitive package + car etc

Our client is looking to appoint a General Manager to be responsible for the day to day management, performance and profitability of the Company. Working closely with the Managing Director you will drive business forward and deliver added value through maximising the profitability of existing sites and identifying new opportunities with current and future potential.
With over 70 owned, leased and managed locations across Britain, our client has a growing portfolio and a growing reputation for providing a first class service to portfolio clients and ultimate customers.
The new General Manager will have demonstrable management experience in a broad business management capacity with the proven ability to effectively engage, motivate and manage staff at all levels. An awareness of Human Resources processes and procedures is desirable as is an understanding of health & safety principals. By far the biggest deciding factor when selecting will be someone with a broad business knowledge at General Manager level who understands how to run a business and isn’t afraid to get involved in a “hands-on” way to take some of the load from the Managing Director and the Finance Director. The position is based in Norwich although frequent travel will be required to fulfil the requirements of this role, therefore a suitable company car will be provided.

Engineering Manager - Norfolk - £45k + car etc

A very experienced senior Engineering Manager required by one of Norfolk’s biggest FMCG manufacturing facilities. As Engineering Manager the successful candidate will effectively manage the site engineering operation for production, technical, site facilities and distribution centre at the South Norfolk site. The role also calls for the management of Capital investment projects as well as assuming accountability for integrity and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, site services (utilities, fire protection, boilers/HVAC, fluid systems, HV & LV installations and compressed air) and production line equipment.

The Engineering Manager will also be expected to collate Maintenance Management Information including downtime analysis, overtime analysis and other costs associated with the total site maintenance activity. Use this information to propose and support plant improvement projects.
Manage the sites capital budgets and associated administration. Manage all capital projects and deliver them on time, within budget and safely. Assume responsibility for all aspects of H & S within engineering and assist other operations managers in H & S objectives. Ensure that the site conforms to all aspects of legislation associated with the engineering / maintenance function.
Provide ongoing maintenance development plans, considering best practice, to meet the company’s drive towards higher plant operational efficiencies. Directly manage fifteen engineering staff ensuring that manpower is correctly allocated in accordance with priorities.
The role is autonomous in that the job holder is responsible for the day to day management of the engineering function and works largely unsupervised.

The Capital plant available is valued at £7.5M and there is a £400,000 pa maintenance budget
To be considered for interview you will have up to degree standard in an engineering discipline and be capable of demonstrating sound project management ability and problem solving and engineering skills at the appropriate level. A qualification in at least one engineering discipline (electrical or mechanical) with a sound working knowledge of the other. Mechanical qualification is preferred. You will also need a minimum five years project management experience of projects up to £2m plus five years maintenance engineering in a high volume, complex FMCG production environment, including at least two years people management experience, preferably in a unionised environment.

Bridal Wear Retail Sales Staff - Norwich - £16-18k pa + £5k commission.

For over fifty years our client ahs been the UKs biggest and best supplier of bridal wear. They now have vacancies in their Norwich outlet for bridal wear sales specialists. These roles are for people who understand that sales of these products are about being part of a structured sales process from the initial appointment to view to the final fitting. You must understand the whole sales process yet still be sharp enough to close the sale when it is there to be closed.
The roles available include a six month maternity leave appointment to cover for the Store Manager to a Senior Sales Executive who is capable of working as a Store Manager when necessary. The company does not run a team of Area Managers so Store Managers are expected to be able to run the business as their own. Merchandising and layout and all other aspects of making the store part of the wedding experience is the responsibility of the local staff. Full training in the sales techniques of the company will be given but this remains a role for a person who is used to selling in this kind of environment.
The store operates Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30am to 6:00pm. There is a starting salary of £16-18,000 per annum with the opportunity to add another £5,000 per annum by achieving very realistic and attainable targets.

As the Internal Telesales Executive you will be expected to contribute to the sales effort of the company by generating new sales leads, dealing with telesales enquiries and providing excellent customer service to your own client base. A great opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Management Accountant to join a hugely successful company with bases in Norfolk and on the south coast. The company operates in the leisure and travel industry and has twenty of its own centres, hotels and chateaux around Europe turning over in excess of £80m p.a. Staff numbers are seasonal by the nature of the business but are normally around 1,000 spread around the UK and Europe.
This is not a role for a normal Management Accountant. The successful candidate will be a bit special and will have considerable experience in a similar high profile, high pressure role. Our client works closely with their venture capital partners who see this role as key not only to the success of the business (and therefore their considerable investment) but also to their comfortable day-to-day involvement in the business in terms of reporting and monitoring the commercial progress of the business. For this reason alone it is very desirable that the person stepping into this new role will already have experience of working with one of the world’s biggest banks at a hands-on, venture capital level. You will be very familiar with what makes a VC feel “warm and comfortable” and how to produce information in a format that they welcome and increases that comfortable feeling.
Covernants, balance sheets, cash flow, monitoring and reporting will all be within your remit and you will have a proven track record in these areas. Site Engineering Manager - Gt Yarmouth - £40k pa

Site Engineering Manager is required for our Great Yarmouth pharmaceuticals manufacturer. The Site Engineering Manager role is a newly create position as the site continues to thrive and prosper. The successful candidate will be responsible for all engineering operations on site including the following examples. Control all routine maintenance and project engineering work on site and ensure completion on a timely basis. Ensure engineering procedures and validation protocols are prepared on a timely basis. Ensure Frontline Maintenance System is managed routinely and is up to date. Provide local IT support to site by liaising with IT Department at Headquarters. From a Quality/ GMP perspective the Site Engineering Manager will be expected to ensure all mechanical and electrical engineering work carried out on site satisfies all current regulatory requirements. The Site Engineering Manager will also be able to support Health and Safety Committee in the prevention of accidents and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and ensure Engineering Department maintains a safe working environment by working safely.

Budgetary control will also be important to ensure Engineering expenditure does not exceed expectations.

This is a role for a proven Manufacturing Engineering Manager ideally with a pharmaceutical production background. You will certainly be used to working with a clean, hygienic environment to exacting standards when dealing with maintenance and related issues. The role is an important senior management role and, as such, has a salary to £40,000 pa attached along with other benefits.

Construction Project Engineer - Norfolk - £30,000 + benefits

This role will be predominantly based in Norwich but will require regular visits to the offices in London and Birmingham. Property Development Surveyor - Norwich - £40,000 pa negotiable

Property Development Surveyor required to be based in Central Norwich but with a remit than can cover the UK. Reporting to the Development Director the successful candidate will assist in bringing forward large, often multi-million pound, development projects. You will work with the property and finance teams in advancing potential property acquisitions with development opportunities and work closely with the construction team to ensure a smooth handover of development projects. In addition you will be able to assist in co-ordinating project teams for principal development projects.

Principal Valuer - Norwich - to £33,291 pa

Norwich City Council have a vacancy for a Principal Valuer. The successful candidate will supervise and manage on a day to day basis, a team of Valuer/s and Technical Assistant/s in order to achieve the provision of general practice surveying advice including valuation, commercial property management, acquisitions and disposals, within a designated area of the Council’s property portfolio. Undertake valuations (statutory and non-statutory) for a variety of purposes in accordance with professional guidance and standards, where applicable. Manage income/expenditure and pursue recovery of income due. Make proposals for expenditure on programmes of work, agree budgets and control activities against budgets. Establish professional support requirements of internal clients and provide appropriate advice to meet customer needs. Assess and report on repair expenditure and specific works as and when required for the Council’s property portfolio. Instruct Building/Electrical/Structural Surveyors to undertake repair works above delegated limits once agreed with the Property Services Manager.
To carry out these tasks the Principal Valuer needs to be an experienced and effective negotiator in landlord and tenant legislation and experienced in current valuation techniques. You will be able to carry out investment appraisal and / or have Asset Management experience. Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is, of course, a pre-requisite.
There is a starting salary of £30,598 to £33,291 plus a generous relocation package available if you currently reside outside the area.

QA Auditor - South Norfolk - Excellent Package

Our South Norfolk client is a major global manufacturer with a prime production facility in Thetford. They currently have a requirement with the Quality Control Team for a QA Auditor to ensure QC monitoring and investigation covering incoming/new packaging, componentry and packed stock. The successful candidate will be used to providing QA support to operations and R&D and will understand the importance of approving “First Deliveries” from Suppliers. You will carry out testing of Goods In Packaging Components in accordance with AQL procedure and specifications and perform In Line QC training and support for operators. You will be well versed in the raising, follow through and closure of DMRs direct with Suppliers and used to supplier performance monitoring and rating while, at the same time building good working relationships towards a continuous improvement plan. In your current role you will be able to instigate and follow up Biennial Supplier Review, maintain Glass Register, raise , follow up and review corrective actions across business. You will understand 5S Walk and be primary contact for pest control. You will need knowledge of Quality procedures in an FMCG environment and be qualified as a QA/QC professional. Lab experience will also be viewed very favourably.
