A very experienced senior Engineering Manager required by one of Norfolk’s biggest FMCG manufacturing facilities. As Engineering Manager the successful candidate will effectively manage the site engineering operation for production, technical, site facilities and distribution centre at the South Norfolk site. The role also calls for the management of Capital investment projects as well as assuming accountability for integrity and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, site services (utilities, fire protection, boilers/HVAC, fluid systems, HV & LV installations and compressed air) and production line equipment.
The Engineering Manager will also be expected to collate Maintenance Management Information including downtime analysis, overtime analysis and other costs associated with the total site maintenance activity. Use this information to propose and support plant improvement projects.
Manage the sites capital budgets and associated administration. Manage all capital projects and deliver them on time, within budget and safely. Assume responsibility for all aspects of H & S within engineering and assist other operations managers in H & S objectives. Ensure that the site conforms to all aspects of legislation associated with the engineering / maintenance function.
Provide ongoing maintenance development plans, considering best practice, to meet the company’s drive towards higher plant operational efficiencies. Directly manage fifteen engineering staff ensuring that manpower is correctly allocated in accordance with priorities.
The role is autonomous in that the job holder is responsible for the day to day management of the engineering function and works largely unsupervised.
The Capital plant available is valued at £7.5M and there is a £400,000 pa maintenance budget
To be considered for interview you will have up to degree standard in an engineering discipline and be capable of demonstrating sound project management ability and problem solving and engineering skills at the appropriate level. A qualification in at least one engineering discipline (electrical or mechanical) with a sound working knowledge of the other. Mechanical qualification is preferred. You will also need a minimum five years project management experience of projects up to £2m plus five years maintenance engineering in a high volume, complex FMCG production environment, including at least two years people management experience, preferably in a unionised environment.

These roles are for people who understand that sales of these products are about being part of a structured sales process from the initial appointment to view to the final fitting. The roles available include a six month maternity leave appointment to cover for the Store Manager to a Senior Sales Executive who is capable of working as a Store Manager when necessary. To be capable of achieving all this you will have a strong electrical/mechanical engineering background and experience gained within a fast moving proposals environment. A great opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Management Accountant to join a hugely successful company with bases in Norfolk and on the south coast. This is a role for a proven Manufacturing Engineering Manager ideally with a pharmaceutical production background. You will certainly be used to working with a clean, hygienic environment to exacting standards when dealing with maintenance and related issues. The successful candidate will supervise and manage on a day to day basis, a team of Valuer/s and Technical Assistant/s in order to achieve the provision of general practice surveying advice including valuation, commercial property management, acquisitions and disposals, within a designated area of the Council’s property portfolio. You will be familiar with commercial property management (landlord and tenant), acquisitions and disposals, Appraisals/Feasibility and Valuation. Undertake valuations (statutory and non-statutory) for a variety of purposes in accordance with professional guidance and standards, where applicable. Manage income/expenditure and pursue recovery of income due. Make proposals for expenditure on programmes of work, agree budgets and control activities against budgets. Establish professional support requirements of internal clients and provide appropriate advice to meet customer needs. Assess and report on repair expenditure and specific works as and when required for the Council’s property portfolio. Instruct Building/Electrical/Structural Surveyors to undertake repair works above delegated limits once agreed with the Property Services Manager.
To carry out these tasks the Principal Valuer needs to be an experienced and effective negotiator in landlord and tenant legislation and experienced in current valuation techniques. You will be able to carry out investment appraisal and / or have Asset Management experience. Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is, of course, a pre-requisite.

Our South Norfolk client is a major global manufacturer with a prime production facility in Thetford. They currently have a requirement with the Quality Control Team for a QA Auditor to ensure QC monitoring and investigation covering incoming/new packaging, componentry and packed stock. The successful candidate will be used to providing QA support to operations and R&D and will understand the importance of approving “First Deliveries” from Suppliers. You will carry out testing of Goods In Packaging Components in accordance with AQL procedure and specifications and perform In Line QC training and support for operators. You will be well versed in the raising, follow through and closure of DMRs direct with Suppliers and used to supplier performance monitoring and rating while, at the same time building good working relationships towards a continuous improvement plan. In your current role you will be able to instigate and follow up Biennial Supplier Review, maintain Glass Register, raise , follow up and review corrective actions across business. You will understand 5S Walk and be primary contact for pest control. You will need knowledge of Quality procedures in an FMCG environment and be qualified as a QA/QC professional. Lab experience will also be viewed very favourably.
