If you are out of work for the first time the feeling can be even worse. Now, at last, help is at hand with the Badger Associates Career Movers Programme. We have agonised with candidates and waited anxiously by the telephone for news of interview outcomes and commiserated with the unsuccessful ones even when we can see where they may be falling short. We have watched as outsiders have won the race for a role and while nailed-on certainties were pipped at the post. We have listened to candidates and employers in post interview situations and analysed their rationale.
For some time we have been thinking long and hard about how we could help people who find themselves looking for employment. What was important to us from a selfish point of view was that we should recover our costs and still retain the integrity within the recruitment team.
Now, we have finally decided to document all this research and the result is pretty eye-opening. Our observations have been compiled by interviewers, consultants, occupational psychologists and, of course, employers. No guarantees of course, but if you follow the principals properly and don’t cut corners you will improve your chances immeasurably. It won’t take you long to read through but you will want to re-reference it at each stage of the recruitment process.
Having written the definitive guide to good applications we looked again at where else we could help and eventually devised what we are calling the “Career Movers Programme”. All members of this exclusive new programme will receive:
- The e-booklet that can change your life and your career. Read it and follow the instructions, heed the tips and accept the advice and you are moving up the queue already.

This gives a 10-12 line summary of your skill set online and available to potential employers 24/7. So what doesn’t membership of the programme give you? Well, quite simply, it doesn’t guarantee you a job. It doesn’t give you any priority or undue influence over the recruitment side of the company other than the advantages that following the guidance in the e-booklet gives you or the increased exposure that your details will receive. Please don’t embarrass both parties by seeking priority treatment on the recruitment side of the business because you have joined the Career Movers Programme. It is very important to us to retain our independence and integrity in the recruitment team.

So what does all this cost? In truth it should cost a whole lot more than we are charging. On the one hand we want to be certain that we are not seen to be exploiting the current recruitment situation. At the same time we must be commercial. Traditionally candidates do not pay recruiters, like house buyers don’t pay Estate Agents. But candidates often need the extra advice and guidance that can only come at a cost. We have put a lot of work into this package and will need to continue to do so as it develops and expands. We all know that unless something has a worth it is perceived as worthless. So there needs to be a cost. We have decided to set this as low as possible at just £50.00 + vat for a full year’s membership. To make us fee better we have also decided that if anyone believes that our advice and guidance have indeed been worthless then we will offer a full 100% refund after a year. Now, we can’t be fairer than that!
